Joy of Sharing

Natural Calamities are really very devastating. I felt intense pain and helplessness as I watched the News channel giving glimpse of Chennai Flood. The situation seems to be more painful than what we watch in television sitting in the comfort of our homes.

This is an hour of need and we should do our part. We cannot stop such calamities but can always lend our support to the rescue operations going on. Lives of those affected by flood come to a standstill.  Disasters like flood bring with it varied problems which leaves a lasting effect, like hygiene situations, safe drinking water and proper food.

My mind was flooded with such thoughts when my friend told me about WorldVision India; it’s a humanitarian organization working on various subjects like development, relief, child education etc. I was overwhelmed when I came to know about how well World Vision India is working to help all those affected by flood. 23 relief camps have been set up in communities that World Vision works; children and adults in the relief centers have been supplied with food, biscuits, water packets, blankets and towels. Apart from this World Vision India with its proactive vision is formulating plan and looking for interventions to address issues like sanitation and health to the people in relief camps. They are supplying oral hydration packets and necessary medicines in the camp. I've been following them on social media and impressed about their work. Do Visit their Twitter handle and Facebook page to get latest updates and more information on the ongoing situation.

The flood has caused massive destruction, trauma is huge and the journey is long with stages of rescue, relief, restoration, rehabilitation and recovery. We all need to connect in solidarity and do our best possible to alleviate sufferings of people. It is of immense relief that we have societies like World Vision India, working selflessly to provide quality services carrying out relief operations even in the remote locations.

No joy is greater than the joy of sharing. Join hands with World Vision India and contribute towards this noble cause. You can donate through this link World VisionIndia. Your generous contribution is going to be of immense help to the one in need.
